Ren is an AI-powered personal fitness coaching app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Ren, you agree to the practices described here.

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (handled securely by our authentication provider, Supabase, and never stored by us in plain text).
To provide coaching, workout plans, and progress tracking, we collect:
Messages you send to our AI coach, and notes our system saves about your stated preferences, goals, and circumstances, so the coach can tailor advice to you over time.
If you subscribe to Ren Premium, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple and our subscription management provider, RevenueCat.
Standard technical data such as device type, app version, and crash/error logs, used to keep the app working reliably.

Ren relies on a small number of trusted service providers to operate. Each only receives the data necessary to perform its specific function.

Messages, photos, and fitness context you share with Ren's AI coach are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your data is not used to train AI models, and API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from Anthropic's systems within 7 days.
When your meal plan displays a picture of a meal, the meal's name and calorie amount are sent to OpenAI's image generation API to create that picture. Nothing else is sent to OpenAI — no account details, no photos you have taken, no health or bodyweight data, and no chat messages. Under OpenAI's API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.
No data is sent to Anthropic or OpenAI unless you have explicitly agreed to it. When you first use Ren, you are shown a screen that names both providers, lists exactly what would be sent to each, and explains how it is used. Nothing is shared with either provider until you accept, and you can continue using Ren to log workouts, food and bodyweight manually if you decline. Both providers are bound by data processing terms that require protections equivalent to those described in this policy.
We retain your account and fitness data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or accounting purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to withdraw consent for optional data sharing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@renapp.io.
If you request a refund through Apple, we may, with your consent, share information about your app usage with Apple to help inform their refund decision. This does not affect your ability to request a refund directly through Apple at any time.
Ren is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@renapp.io.
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections and secure authentication, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using commercially reasonable safeguards.
Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Ren after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
